RMA XFX 8800GTS [Relato]

Galera, há alguns dias atrás abri um tópico aki relatando problemas de artefatos na minha querida 8800gts.

No fim, dps de tanto tentar ressucitar ela, resolvi fazer o RMA, mandar pra XFX nos states e ver se consigo resolver isso de uma vez por todas.

Andei lendo pela net q fazer RMA tem vantagens e desvantagens. Vantagem é q a maioria (senão todos), ao fazer o RMA, receberam uma placa novinha em folha na CAIXA com cds e tudo mais, e mtos até receberam uma de melhor performance. Desvantagem é q vou ter q desbancar pouco mais de R$ 150 pra enviar/trazer a placa. Mas antes gastar 150 e ter ela consertada ou uma nova, do q perder os 1000 conto q ela custou né?! E outra desvantagem (q estou mais preocupado) é a placa ser recusada por alguma modificação física/interna, e ser enviada d volta.

Quem viu o tópico q havia postado sabe o q eu fiz, flasheei a bios e ainda por cima desmontei a placa toda pra ver se tinha algo queimado

Mas agora já foi, ta decidido, e vou mandar amanhã ou no mais tardar na terça-feira.
Não sei se pode, mas to seguindo um tutorial de como fazer o RMA por esse site. Tem mtas dicas de como evitar de ser taxado na RF e talz, achei o tuto bem completo.


Pra quem tá pensando em fazer o RMA na XFX, ou pra quem é curioso mesmo, vou postando aki o andamento da minha situação de tempos em tempos e ver no q vai dar!

poxa cara tb fico meiu pertubado com o fato de seu rma falahr por ter mudado a bios!mas vc pode enviar um email explicando q tentou mudar a bios por tentativa de concertar a placa pq vc mora em outro pais e nao qria ter q recorrer a ultima opcao noc aso rma!
faz o seginte antes de enviar e gastar esse dienhrio anda email pros caras la e fala da sua situacao!

Me responda uma coisa cara... Se eu fizer um biosmod só pra aumentar a voltagem da GPU mas usando a bios original pode invalidar a garantia ? Pq eu já ouvi falar que se vc colocar a bios de outra placa aí sim vc perde a garantia.

Creio que se não fez nada absurdo na VGA, tipo troca de cooler, ou algum mod físico não tem problema.

Se trocou a BIOS por uma de outra fabricante pode dizer que "não sabia que era de outra fabricante" ou sei lá.

Acho que para eles (XFX) é mais negócio mandar uma VGA nova e fazer mais um fã (que é o marketing da empresa) do que ficar mesquinhando por causa de uma VGA que para eles não fará diferença alguma.

Isso foi oque eu ouvi dizer também.
Mas pelo que andei lendo o RMA das ATI parece ser melhor que os da Nvidia..mas, só experimentando msm p/ saber :\

Bom, pra dar uma atualizada no tópico, a placa já chegou lá (de acordo com rastreamento dos Correios), chegou 3 dias depois, mandei dia 08/09, chegou ontem 11/09.

Agora é só esperar eles testarem a placa ver o exato problema e me contactarem.

No aguardo.

Aproveito pra postar o registro das mensagens que troquei com o pessoal do suporte da XFX, pra quem tiver curiosidade de como é o atendimento.

About 2 weeks ago, my VGA started to show some airtfacts on screen, with yellow vertical lines after installed the new nVidia driver (with Physx). I`ve removed the driver, tried to put on other slot, but keeps the same. What can I do to solve this problem? Thanks for your atention.

Do you see them when you turn on the computer, windows loading screen, desktop, 3d application, or all of them? Are you able to try the card in another computer or another card in your computer and see where the issue follows? Also, make sure that you have a clean install of drivers. We highly recommend Driver Cleaner, found at http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745 which will come in handy for cleaning out traces of older graphics drivers. (Make sure you have the latest drivers, from www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx downloaded to your desktop.) Download the program, install it, but dont run it until youve rebooted into Safe Mode (tap F8 during bootup) and then choose NVIDIA as the cleaning selection. Run that 3  4 times, to be thorough, and then youll reboot into normal Windows mode in order to reinstall drivers. Let us know. Thanks, Brian.

The artifatcs appears immediately when i turn on the PC, showing some vertical lines and the caracteres of the BOOT screen are crazy, and in the Windows XP, the screen is full of vertical lines in yellow color, and every application i open, the lines are there. I tried many things to try to solve this problem: - Removed drivers with driver cleaner in safe mode - Installed older drivers from nvidia site - Installed the VGA on other PCI-E slot - tried the VGA in another computer, and the same lines are happenning After your message, I went to try to remove the drivers with driver cleaner 3-4 times like you said, but... nothing changed, even the lines stays on the same place. And yesterday I tried a new VGA card on my pc, and run smoothly, without the "evil lines" So, i think that the problem is much more serious than we think... i don`t know, I love my vga card, and i`m desperate!!

Because you are located outside the U.S.A., additional taxes may be imposed on the return shipments by your government. We provide proper documentation and label the package to the best of our ability but these fees are completely at the discretion of the local government. You will be liable for these fees if they occur. The shipping to the US is also very expensive from Brazil. That is why the retailer generally handles any warranty exchanged in South America. [ 9/5/2008 3:26:39 PM] I`ve read some RMA procedures in forums and i learned that to avoid additional taxes from the government of Brazil, I need to fill out some documents (including this you`ve sended) and send it with the product to USA, and need to have these documents on the course of the back here in Brazil. So i will be glad if you guys from XFX send it back to Brazil with these documents to avoid these guys from Brazil from giving me additional taxes. I`ll send the product as fast as I can!

Muito fudida? Eles não aceitaram nem que eu enviasse a placa. Eles nem viram ela, provavel pq sou do Brasil e não teria nota fiscal. Enfim evga fede.

Bom, só pra deixar o tópico atualizado, quando tinha dito q ela tinha chegado havia me enganado, na verdade ficou preso na alfandega pra verificacao durante 5 dias. Como nunca tinha feito envio via correios, o tracking me deixou confuso, achei q qdo dizia "Conferido" era q tinha sido entregue e talz, mas não, ela na verdade chegou ontem, 18/09, ou seja, entregue 10 dias depois.
